Midwives are primary care providers providing comprehensive prenatal care for normal, low-risk pregnancies. During prenatal appointments you will learn about the changes your body goes through as pregnancy progresses, learn and make decisions about tests offered throughout pregnancy, and have the opportunity to ask questions. Midwives can order all tests and ultrasounds, and most medications pertaining to healthy, low-risk pregnancies. Prenatal appointments are generally 30 minutes long, and your support people and children are welcome to join you. When a homebirth is planned, the midwives will visit your home to become familiar with the location.
